A Fun Chess Tournament, Saturday, May 14th

Leawood Elementary Chess Tournament

Leawood Elementary is hosting a Chess Tournament to promote a fun and educational opportunity for players of all levels. Whether this will be your first tournament or you are a seasoned chess competitor, everyone is welcome!

When:  Saturday, May 14

Where: Leawood Elementary, 2400 W 123rd Street, Leawood, KS 66209

Time: 10:00 am—1:00 pm; First round starts at 10:15; Doors will open at 10 am

Cost: $17 per student   Lunch: not provided

Format: Each child will play five matches regardless of score (not elimination)

Sections: K-1, 2-3 grade, 4-6 grade

GM/15 (each player gets 15 minutes per game)

Supervision:  Parents need to stay with their kids; the waiting room will be in the commons. Playing hall will be the Gym.

Registration: Will be accepted through Friday, May 13. http://www.mychessrating.com

You must pre-register online ONLY. No on-site registration. We are taking the first 60 registrations. No more.

Instructions: You do not need to bring any boards or pieces or clocks. Everyone who registers will be paired for first round. No check-in required. Please make sure that participants do know the rules.  We reserve the right to rearrange sections based on attendance

Awards: Everyone will receive a medal for participation. No team awards

Notes: Pairings with siblings are protected. No team protection.
